<3 The People's Parade for No on A! <3
The People of Carlsbad celebrated their amazing movement to stop a billionaire mall developer from destroying their lagoon, desecrating their city constitution and hijacking the local political process through a deceitful and misleading propaganda campaign...with a PARADE!They said, in no uncertain terms "build elsewhere." They did this ALL while having a really fun, peaceful, and amazing time. The "mall on the lagoon" project goes to a vote on February 23rd. #SaveCarlsbad Vote NO on A.Posted by Citizens for North County on Sunday, February 21, 2016
Fishing traditions on the Agua Hedionda and Decepti...
"There is a television ad on tv, that we've all seen, that is aired 8 or 10 or 12 times an evening. The shame of it is, it doesn't mention any building of any mall, it doesn't mention one brick being moved, it doesn't mention one ounce of pavement. All it talks about is open trails, and I think it is very deceiving. I don't think it's fair. I don't think it's right...and I don't think it is who we are." We are so grateful for all of your kind, intelligent, and insightful voices, but we are especially grateful for the calm, caring voice of Greg Gutierrez. Greg spoke at City Council on Tuesday morning, the last meeting before the vote. #SaveCarlsbad #VoteNoOnATuesday's meeting was not recorded or broadcast, so we had to record from the back row. Please excuse the quality.Posted by Citizens for North County on Thursday, February 18, 2016
Citizens for North County
Why are our small, local business owners being forced out? We have seen the demise of The Grand Deli, The Armenian Café, and now another long-time local business. If the Lagoon MegaMall goes in, what local businesses will be lost due to 12-18 months of lowered revenues?
